The largest fox camera rollout around Jervis Bay in New South Wales is helping to understand fox movement into Booderee National Park.
Seventy camera traps have been installed in security posts across Booderee National Park. Researchers are also trapping foxes to fit GPS telemetry collars to better understand fox movements and behaviour.
The work is part of a broader National Environmental Science Program Resilient Landscapes Hub project led by Dr Paul Meek (NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development & University of New England) along with Dr Hugh Davies (University of New England) with Dr Nick Dexter and Dion Maple from Parks Australia’s Country & Conservation unit at Booderee National Park.
