A new Hub project is adding value to and enhancing four existing Hub projects in the Fitzroy catchment through transdisciplinary environmental research, aiming to improve the research process, outputs and their uptake by decision makers.
This project brings together the work on Environmental water needs for the Fitzroy River, Indigenous water needs for the Fitzroy River, Multi-objective planning in northern Australia and Knowledge brokering for Indigenous land management. In parallel with this, the team is evaluating how they are coordinating their work, and the extent to which they are moving towards their intended goals and working effectively with research users such as governments, Traditional Owners, industry and environmental groups.
This will identify lessons that can inform the design, implementation and evaluation of future research to inform sustainable development. For more information please contact michael.douglas@uwa.edu.au, david.pannell@uwa.edu.au or milena.kim@uwa.edu.au.
