The Northern Australia Water Futures Assessment (NAWFA) is an Australian Government initiative to provide the science needed for sustainable development and protection of Northern Australia’s water resources. One project undertaken as part of the NAWFA Ecological Program was the TRaCK project: Assessing the likely impacts of development on Aquatic Ecological Assets in northern Australia. Led by the University of Western Australia in collaboration with researchers from a variety of universities and research organisations, the project aimed to improve our understanding of water-dependent ecological assets across northern Australia and the risks to those assets arising from hydrologic changes due to water resource development or climate change.
