Bio

Bernadette Calma is a Jawoyn woman from the Mary River region of Kakadu. She is also a TO and park Ranger and she is the Women’s (Almukka) Ranger Co-ordinator for the Mary River region. She started as a KIRP ranger in 2010 and has worked her way up through the ranks. She is on the BoM. Has experience in all kinds of land management and focussed her works on her father’s country in the south of KNP. She has worked on research projects through the digital women’s rangers projects, fire programs the buffalo and pig monitoring project. She has presented her work at a range of forums and conferences including healthy country forums and the NESP national conference.
