Joanne is an Olkola woman from Cape York Peninsula and is currently based in Gimuy (Cairns). She grew up on Country and had worked from a young age within the cattle and fishing industry. She has hands-on experience managing Indigenous corporation stakeholder relationships, governance, finance and projects. Besides this, Joanne has worked with local and international carbon developers and oversaw the development of the New South Wales Carbon on Country guide and factsheets. Joanne also sits as a committee member for the Conservation Coaches Network Indigenous Community of Practice, where she supports the continued development and implementation of the network’s strategies relating to the Conservation Standards and Healthy Country Planning processes.
