Margaret (Ulgunular) Rawlinson has connections to the Murrumbaul group which has traditional country in the central part of Kakadu. Margaret grew up in Kakadu and commenced working with the Gagadju Association before starting as a trainee park ranger under Steve Szabo. She went on to become a Park Ranger and then Senior Ranger in the South Alligator district. After more than 30 years, Margaret left parks Australia to become a mentor to female rangers as the Djirribu Ranger co-ordinator. Margaret is currently managing country and working as a member of the Kakadu Board of Management. Margaret has been involved in a range of research projects on land management and is a leader and a recognised expert in wet season burning.
