Fulbright Scholar Rachel Buissereth recently participated in the 2018 Fulbright Gala Dinner at Parliament House, presenting a poster summarising her work with Dr Ro Hill and Dr Pethie Lyons on the Hub’s Knowledge Brokering for Indigenous Land Management project. The event was an opportunity for 50+ Australian and American scholars to describe their research and network with VIPs including the U.S. Charge d’Affaires James Carouso, Julie Bishop, Simon Birmingham and Jeff Bleich.

“As one of a handful of scholars working within the Indigenous space, I was proud to share the Knowledge Brokering project with the wider community and received a lot of positive support on how important this project is to  Australia’s future. Many attendees were impressed at the depth and reach of the project, and praised its emphasis on equitable collaboration.” Rachel said.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be partnered with such a motivated team and intend to use my year in Australia to support the Knowledge Brokering project and its overarching goals to further the interests of Indigenous communities in the Fitzroy and around Australia.”

The Knowledge Brokering project focuses on developing methods for showing and sharing knowledge within Indigenous communities and using these tools to support Indigenous land management decisions.
