Science, sustainability, security

6 July 2018

The Northern Australia Food Futures Conference was hosted by NT Farmers in Darwin this week. With a theme of ‘Science and technology for development’ and with industry participants from across the north, it’s a great venue for Hub leader Michael Douglas to talk about ‘Science, sustainability and security’ in the Development Approvals workshop. The focus of this workshop is how to improve the current development approvals process, with perspectives presented from research, government and private sectors. Professor Douglas will be explaining how robust environmental science that informs development approvals can help farmers in a number of ways including through supporting policy certainty and resource allocation security.
