Attending this year’s 22nd International Riversymposium in Brisbane were Associate Professor Mark Kennard from Griffith University and Hub science communicator Jane Thomas.
A/Prof Kennard presented an overview of the Hub’s river-related research in the Environmental Flows session, summarising our work on Gulf rivers productivity, environmental water needs for the Mitchell, Daly and Fitzroy Rivers, Indigenous water needs for the Fitzroy River and the environmental flows synthesis project that’s bringing it all together. Jane staffed the Hub trade booth which proved a popular meeting place for Hub colleagues, collaborators and research users.
Next month, the Hub be joining the Threatened Species Recovery Hub at the Ecological Society of Australia’s conference in Launceston with a joint booth.
Several project leaders as well as Hub leader Michael Douglas are presenting in the Ecologists Weaving Knowledge on Country and Indigenous Ecological Knowledge sessions.
