What are your research interests as they relate to northern Australia?
My primary research interests relate to the biogeography and global ecology of ants. However, I have broad interests in savanna ecology and conservation biology.
What do you love about working in northern Australia?
I love the fact that northern Australia is such an ecological frontier, with so much to discover. The spectacular landscapes are also something special. I have many favourite places in northern Australia, mostly relating to how interesting their ant faunas are! The Top End and northern Kimberley are particularly special. I am sure that Cape York Peninsula would also be a favourite place if I spent more time there.
