Claire Emmerson has worked in various state government departments, primarily in biodiversity, project management and World Heritage. With an undergraduate degree in Public Policy, Political Science and Communication, she is now pursuing a Master of Environmental Management. As a research assistant at QUT, she is focused on working with government actors to determine the optimum approach for identifying areas important for biodiversity. This study is being completed in partnership with the University of Tasmania. It will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different mapping methods and recommend an approach that can help guide future biodiversity conservation in Australia.
