- Dr Grantham has published extensively on conservation planning (land, freshwater and marine), and has worked directly on applied conservation planning projects in over 30 countries globally.
- He has worked extensively on climate adaptation including leading the development of a vulnerability assessment for northern Afghanistan. Currently working on a new NESP project ‘developing a culturally relevant framework for climate adaptation and resilient landscapes.’
- He has led the development of the Forest Landscape Integrity Index, which is now used by countries and businesses globally to help make decisions around forests. This include conservation funds (e.g. Rainforest Trust) using it to help direct funds for forest conservation projects.
- He has worked on Red List of Ecosystems and Key Biodiversity Areas identification including assessments in Myanmar, Mozambique, and Central Africa.
- Published scientific papers on and applied various technical assessments and tools for projects on impact assessment and mitigation hierarchy, REDD+, HCV assessments (e.g. FSC), natural capital accounting, and green growth strategies.
