What are your research interests as they relate to northern Australia?

My research interests in northern Australia are to use my skills and knowledge to support Indigenous research partners, leaders and their wider communities to further realise their cultural and natural resource management aspirations and goals.  I enjoy using participatory research methodologies to support the co-design, co-development and co-conduct of research with all project partners. In particular, I am committed to research practice, and outcomes, that protect and acknowledge Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property. I am also passionate to ensure that our research is culturally appropriate and will generate immediate and ongoing benefits for Indigenous Australians, in particular, and Australia in general.

What do you love about working in northern Australia?

Northern Australia is comprised of diverse land and sea-scapes: it is a beautiful place to visit and work. It is a privilege to work alongside knowledgeable people from the region, including Indigenous custodians, Traditional Owners of country and young people. I enjoy meeting new people, visiting new places and being involved in the co-creation of knowledge and practice to inform ecologically and culturally sustainable management of the region into the future.
