Building better Indigenous participation

The perspectives of Indigenous communities are often not heard in mainstream water and land planning processes and debates.  Through targeted training (learning by doing) this research aimed at giving local Indigenous communities the skills required to effectively participate and be heard.  It explored alternative ways and arrangements for developing water resources (scenarios).

 

River Change Stories recorded Indigenous peoples‘ knowledge of changes to the catchments to complement scientific knowledge and to assist communities record their knowledge and heritage. These videos are available through KALAAC on request.
