What are your research interests as they relate to northern Australia?
My research interests are broad but relate to aquatic ecosystems. I am an aquatic ecologist and I work on applying knowledge of aquatic ecosystems into monitoring and assessment which can be used to help manage these ecosystems to ensure they are sustainably used. I also have a specific research interest in spring wetlands.
What do you love about working in northern Australia?
What I love about northern Australia is the high diversity of the aquatic biota. The region consistently surprises me with something new every time I do fieldwork. The wetlands across Cape York Peninsula provide the best example of this high diversity. But definitely my favourite place is Talaroo Hot Springs and the Ewamian land near Georgetown. Just spectacular!
