The National Native Title Conference was held in Broome on Yawuru lands from 5-7 June.

The conference brought together native title holders, practitioners, academics and government institutions to consider the topic Many Laws, One Land: legal and political co-existence. Local Traditional Owners and Hub researchers from CSIRO, Griffith University and the University of Western Australia co-presented a session on Two Laws for Running the Fitzroy River – Tools for Two-way Decisions, which included presentations on Knowledge brokering for Indigenous Land Management, Indigenous water needs for the Fitzroy River and Multi-objective planning in northern Australia.

Project teams also had the opportunity to showcase project outputs throughout the conference, including a draft seasonal calendar from Nyikina country and a 3D model of the Fitzroy River catchment. Both attracted a lot of interest, with many requests for the final calendar and for similar 3D models from Traditional Owners for their Country.
