Fi Freestone has worked in freshwater plant ecology for 10 years, undertaking vegetation surveys in remote locations across Australia (Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and the Northern Territory). She has a Master of Environmental Science and is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at UWA, providing support across numerous projects within the Resilient Landscapes Hub. Fi specialises in wetland vegetation and works on projects that aim to protect natural freshwater values through informing water-management policy. Under the Resilient Landscapes Hub, Fi also collaborates with researchers at Charles Darwin University investigating the impacts of an invasive weed (gamba grass) and the impacts of fire on riparian vegetation in Kakadu National Park.
